Looking for a MURS radio recommendation

Hey All,

Our cabin is in a very wooded area with a lot of reentrants and so I'm thinking that a VHF based radio might be a better choice than the UHF FRS/GMRS ones (like those Motorola jobbies). The last time I used a VHF radio was back on an AN/PRC-77 set so I don't have any modern experience with these devices.

Anyone have any recommendations for MURS devices?

Or should I consider getting a GMRS license and using the 5W option?

Thoughts?
