network analyzer as a reciever
« on: June 19, 2017, 06:14:30 am »
Is there a downside to doing this? My network analyzer is pretty sensitive and fast. (300MHz span).

Plugging it into the IF output. Is there anything I should be aware of?

In principle I don't see any reson why you can't use a network analyzer as a receiver. You might need to add extra input protection just to be safe, the phase noise performance and dynamic range will probably not be as good as a receiver and your IF downconverter will need AGC.
