Scientific Atlanta Noise Generator (4661) RF Connectors
« on: August 23, 2017, 12:16:30 pm »
I have a Scientific Atlanta 4661 RF Noise Generator.  All of the modules inside the box are interfaced together with short 75 ohm coax cables with quick disconnect connectors.  The connectors look very similar to QMA connectors, but of reverse polarity.  However, the 4661 box came out in the late 70s and the QMA connectors did not come out until the 2000s.  Does anyone have any idea as to the model of these connectors?  I need to interface to standard connectors so that I can test the modules.  The attached snapshot shows the male connectors.

Try to find it here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_RF_connector_types
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Coaxial_connectors

But it looks like the DIN 1.0/2.3..I'm not too sure. I'll update later.

Is the cable you pictured above used for board-to-board interconnect?

There you go..I found it!
It turns out it is a mini-smb connector.

If not it might be the standard smb connector.

If you want to interface it with modules with common connectors like sma, you might need these:
SMA to SMB adapter
just be sure to verify the size/dimensions to avoid hassle. ;)

Thanks for the replies.  It appears that the connector is a SMB 75 ohm.  I had only looked at generic SMB connectors and noted that they were too small in diameter.  The 75 ohm unit appears to be the same size as my connectors.
