slyvania TW-956K traveling wave tube specifications?
« on: August 14, 2017, 10:39:06 pm »
All I can find on this guy is that it was an early development, 1959, from a electronics publication. Claims to be broad band.

It's rather large and appears to have TNC connectors.

Can anyone guess at the specifications of this guy (bandwidth, power)? And voltages required for operation?

I would guess it has a power output of at least 5+ watts given its size. maybe more. its rather heavy and magnetized. Kind of reminds me of kirks phase rifle from the original series of startrek. (because of the cooling fins, colorful hv wiring and general shape). If you used active magnets to focus it.. it would probobly look similar with the coils and whatnot.
