DS-1054Z vs GDS-1054B shootout?
« on: May 15, 2016, 10:09:58 am »
It looks like other people are aiming at the $400 price slot, eg. the GW Instek GDS-1054B

http://www.tequipment.net/Instek/GDS-1054B/Digital-Oscilloscopes/

Price is close to a DS-1054Z and specs are similar, even the model numbering is similar to Rigol (DS1054Z or DS1054B?)

Being hackable obviously gives the DS1054Z a big advantage but maybe time for a shootout video. :box:

Dave did a video here but it lacks more depth in performance testing.

and in the FFT analysis there is some comparison between Rigol and Instek, plus a good contrast against top brands and a dedicated SA:
