Forum Server Issues
« on: September 02, 2010, 04:30:18 am »
Sorry about all the forum problems recently.
Looks like it may now be fixed.
I found a repair php file on the SMF Forum that seems to have worked (and detected one possible path error)
It has certainly restored my Admin access which is a big relief.
I changed the cookie name just in case, so you'll have to delete your cookies in ordrer for it to work again.

Still no idea why it went bust, I didn't touch anything, but apparently it's a fairly common problem with SMF forums.

Any further issues let me know.

Thanks
Dave.

Sorry this is such a pain in the ass Dave! Ever think of getting a friend to manage this stuff? It would leave you to do what you do best instead of dealing with this crap.
Like a forums guy who takes care of all your forums and its bits. Maybe even one of the talented guys who post here all the time?

Dave is the only one that can sort out the server issues unless of course he hires a hit squad to go see hist hosting provider  ;)

As for a moderator which is what a forum helper is called these generally do appear on large forums where help is needed, but really all a moderator can do is boot people off and delete unwanted rubbish and so far this forum has been pretty good so maybe we don't need any yet

Well I'm saying in the event it is an SMF issue it would be nice to have someone else figure out the bugs so he can work on the awesome vlogs!   ;D

the SMF issues should be fixed by the SMF forum writers, for the whole server to go off line is the hosters fault

Just noticed it ....  back to  SMF 1.1.11    from SMF 1.1.18  .

Wise decision..  ;)

Huh?
The forum has always been 1.1.11

SiteCloud have just tweeted that they have the server fix and are rolling it out tonight.
Once it's done I'll let everyone know, and then I need to collect any reports of 503 or other errors via a thread on here.

Dave.

4 hours ago I received a 500 internal error, but it seems that it happened while they were applying the fix.
