Old BWD Scope for Teardown?
« on: December 19, 2016, 04:24:06 am »
Hi I havent posted here in aaaagees (I think last time the community was helping me out with a PSU)
Anyway, Ive had an old Australian Made BWD 10Mhz scope for quite a while as my main goto scope. I'm not an EE by any means and dont use it much anymore and I've been meaning to give it to Dave whenever I drove up from Melbourne.

Well it just so happens I'm flying up on Thursday and could drop it at the Baulkim Hills post office assuming I can get it on the plane with me. (I'm going to be in Castle Hill)

I havent opened it myself but im pretty sure it will still have the old school smell and even still has the Made In Australia tag on it.

Is this something Dave would be interested in?
Does anyone have experience bringing a large metal box on a plane?

I'll upload some photos tonight if there is interest.

The manual for this BWD scope is available from Kevin Chant's BWD page:

Dave might like to do a CRO Basics and trace the signal path right to the CRT along with a look at the timebase and how it controls the sweep to get the signal we see displayed on screen.
