* Fluke 96 Series II *

I just bought a Fluke 96 of the 'bay.

I cannot find anything on that model but loads of stuff on the 96B and 97.

What is the deal with these - is it a good portable 50Mhz scope?

Paid $250 with probes, original carry case, manuals, and near mint condition.

I can find manuals and even a couple of videos, but nobody telling me how good or how bad it is. The 97 has lots of information from people and even the 96B. Mine is the older one.

I am looking to use it as opposed to dragging my Tektronix bench scope out on the shop floor and instrument lab.

They're tough and mostly reliable, minus the bnc inputs and sometimes the screens. I'd definitely recommend a Micsig or newer fluke handheld but if it's what you can afford it should be fine.

Just got it - can't believe it. It is in perfect and unused condition with ALL of the original swag. The manual appears to have never been read and original clamshell case has all of the new Fluke stuff in it.

Curiously the battery pack is not included and the power cord was repaired. Other than that it looks like the original owner treated it like a very expensive heirloom.

I'll take it to work tomorrow and put it to use :-)

Has anyone been able to get data from the Fluke 96 series: such as data points, voltages,..

I am looking for a way to get to the data in my old but nice Fluke 96. I can write programs or build hardware to talk to it but if someone has already done this I am interested in knowing how to do it.
