8 channel analog data recorder that works with iPad?
« on: May 03, 2018, 09:16:45 pm »
I do some hobby drag racing in my spare time and use a Dataq DI-148U to record analog data during the race for analysis after the event.  The setup tucked up under the dash consists of a pico ITX PC, external display, mini keyboard etc. Too much stuff!

I would like to replace all the PC stuff with an iPad, unfortunately the Dataq software only runs on a PC.

Are there any cheap ($100 or so) mini data recorders that work with an iPad?

The Dataq provides 8 analog channels, and I use all of them.

Would an older laptop/tablet PC do the job?  There may also be something that works on an iPad, but you could probably keep all your current setup in terms of software and save format if you just bought a used laptop or something.

Laptop with a hard drive does not work, the G-Forces crash the hard drive, SSD works (that's what I'm using now).

I might look at Windows based tablets like the surface Pro.
