34401A possible to cal single range ?
« on: May 20, 2018, 11:55:54 pm »
Is it possible to run a zero cal and then calibrate only a single range, say the 10V range?

I haven't found much info on this and the calibration instructions state that you must perform only in the order shown in the verification tables.

Yes, the 34401A allows to calibrate single ranges.
The calibration of the 10Vdc range, but also the 1V and 100mV ranges might affect other modes, which require an absolute DC reference, like the AC ranges, and the current ranges.
100V and 1kV will probably not affect other modes/ranges.
Ohm should be measured by a ratio technique..check circuit diagram ... and therefore should not be affected by the 10V re-calibration.

Dr. Frank,  thanks.  I'll be sure to be adequately prepared before tackling any other ranges.  I discovered my problem was that I was not waiting for the process to complete, thinking I had to press enter to move along.

Danielaz,  Sorry but I don't understand your post.
