Yes. The U.S. Army documentation for the 87V(AN) includes schematics and (complete?) parts list.
The PDF file size slightly larger than allowed here.
I'm sure many folks here would like this information.
Perhaps somebody here could get me an email to someone appropriate who disseminate this info or give me some other way to post it?
I've not seen this info anywhere til now. It was on a CD-ROM of Fluke info I picked up somewhere and never really looked at.
Not to worry, been a member here a long time - no viruses or anything like that. Promise.

It's likely possible to repackage the PDF to make it smaller.
-
I'm sure the KO4BB archive could use a copy too!

https://www.pdfmerge.com/ (https://www.pdfmerge.com/)
There are links to Split PDF and Compress PDF at the bottom of the page. I'd go for the split and merge approach rather than compress to maintain maximum quality.
Certainly upload it to KO4BB too, but it can take a while to be put up.

Here's part One:
-
Here's part 2 of 4 - 87V service manual.
-
Here's part 3 of 4 - 87V service manual.
-
And Part 4 of 4 - this one has the schematics.
I uploaded the full PDF to KO4BB as well.
-
That’s really cool. Thanks for posting.
-
Thanks for posting but #2 and #3 have the wrong pages. # 2 is pages 18-22 and #3 is pages 23-34. Schematics start on page 38 :(
-
Any other interesting stuff on the disc?

Everything appears to be there for me.

Yes he fixed it. Now there are 4 parts (prior was 1-3 of 3).
Thanks mzacharias!

The LCD contrast has thermistor compensation, that's interesting.
And there is an IR communications serial interface not loaded.
-
Sorry for the mess uploading y'all. The PDF split software was fairly quirky.
-

Just publicly available stuff so far as I can tell.
-
If anyone wants this as a single file rather then 4, please PM me with your email address and I'll email you back a copy with pleasure.

TP37 looks interesting. Voltage divider labelled MODEL SELECTION.
-
Quite useful info! Thank you!
Specmaster, are you planning to post the full manual somewhere? KO4BB perhaps?

Already did that tonight.

Surely the 83V (the 85 isn't a thing any more?) would not have the RMS converter chip chip fitted though?
There are quite a lot of jumper difference between units as well, R104, R112, R113, and U12 MUX is only on the 87.
Maybe you could enabled 20000 count mode on the 83V though?
Does anyone have a teardown photo of the 83V?

There never was an 85V. The 85 went away after the III series.

Yeah - I uploaded the whole manual to K04BB also; I'm sure there's some latency there.

Ooooh! Tasty!
Perusing his archive, I see he didn't have the Fluke 187/189 User & Calibration Manuals I have; well now he does. Now if I can just find the full Service Manual... I have the 87-IV/89-IV Service Manual, which I understand is the same meter, but mine doen't have schematics.
Thanks for the reminder I needed to do that!

No it isn't, I merged the 4 parts and ran the Adobe acrobat professional optimisation routine and it came above 1Mb file size.
-
Also mirrored 87V/AN full PDF (https://xdevs.com/doc/Fluke/87V/Fluke_87V_Full_service_manual_with_schematic_and_electrical_parts_list_Service_Manual-87VANFullService.pdf). Thanks!

Thanks Chris.
In a time of crappy unboxing youtube videos, 99.9% of the people would look at the CD and think it was a digital copy of the user manual, legalese, etc and just chuck it aside.
So thanking for actually looking and posting the information. It will make fixing 87V in the future easier for us.

The 87V service manual did not come from the CD packed with new units. It was on a burned CD I picked up somewhere.

Can anybody tell me how input protection works?
I see 910V varistor (?) rated at too high voltage isnt it?

Fluke explains how it works on page 11+ (actual PDF page 19+)

The MOVs are only there to prevent arcing across the switch.
