AC/DC power/energy meter
« on: October 15, 2018, 05:09:13 pm »
I am having a hard time finding a tool to measure power in both AC and DC.

Ideally I would buy the Metrahit Energy meter but it is very hard to find and a bit expensive since I don't need all the other DMM functions.

I already have a Fluke 345 which I use mainly for High current application since it is a clamp style meter but I need something much more accurate for power and energy reading at low power outputs.

Finding a suitable tool has been frustrating as there seems to be none out there.

I have the gossen it does AC power analysis and DC upto say about 10 amps.

If you want to measure higher D.C power you need a later version of the meter with version 2.xxx as they made some modification to allow you to connect a hall effect current clamp to the current input. They sell a D.C power set

Or
I managed to find a cheap power clamp meter that does kWh, KW, VAR, VA.

Problems is it's not true r.m.s which is a bit disappointing. It also does D.C power which is useful.
