Well my 2c worth.. purchased the BM235 because wanted a little quality compaired to the cheap and nasty meters i use without autorange etc.. less that 2yr later with only a few dozen times used if now failed.... all my cheap junk meters still work for my voltage and other basic testing... i wanted a quality rubber case meter with good leads. So quite annoyed. Anyway will look on here if anyone has an idea. Emailed Dave no response guess 2 busy
Wonder how my other people have problems with these meters. Shame shame shame.
Sorry to hear that; perhaps it would be a good idea to open a new thread in the repair section with a thorough description of the problem and the steps you performed to try and validate what may be going on. People around here tend to be quite helpful.

Oh, the "whys" of the datasheets... The information is there not to be an axiomatic truth, but instead each speck of data must be slowly inhaled while carefully performing a deep search inside oneself to find the true metaphysical sense...

Keysight, Fluke, Tektronix, Teledyne LeCroy, Rohde & Schwarz all have distributors and / or sales offices in India. I am surprised the OP seems to have had some difficulty finding Keysight distributors - there are more than 15 of them in India, and they can be found using the 'Find a Partner' link on the Keysight homepage, near the bottom of the page.

It's a BIG country. Having an office 500 miles away isn't necessarily helpful.

Hi karkoon
Regarding DSO  "RIGOL 1054Z" purchase from AliExpress into India.
Your post Jun 22, 7pm implies a cost (including all duties) = Rs 22K  (27K-5K).

But when I check it is now $349 + EMS shipping $43, totalling $392,
which comes to ~ Rs 27.5K, without any duties itself.

Has the cost gone up recently, Or where am I wrong. Please point out.
Does this item invite any custom duties to India normally?

Well.Rupee has lost it's value. Did you keep that in check?

I didn’t buy Rigol. I bought Siglent 1202xe

It was $379 with free shipping.

Thanks karkoon.   So the free shipping accounted for your Rs 27K.

It implies you have escaped customs duty.  I was apprehensive that this may invite duty almost always due to parcel size & weight ~ 3Kg.

I am ready to buy the EEVBlog Brymen BM235. I love it. But my country hates me and quality products.
We have ridiculous custom duty and GST.
Custom duty for electronics : 21-23% for products costing less than $30(USD)
41% for products costing greater than $30(USD)
Yes freaking 41%, or at least that is what I am destined to incur because of DHL delivery.
And that's not all. They enlist additional custom duty for no apparent reason.

State Government GST : 18%
Central Government GST : 18%

I don't think this is correct as per my purchases so far. Custom duty + tax is around 25-26%.

And courier company will also charge you for clearing your package from customs

You don't have to pay CGST & SGST if you are purchasing directly. Only IGST needs to be paid.
