Agilent 34405A Error 635

I had traded a burned up Agilent 33250A with someone on here for this 34405A 5 Digit DVM.  It had worked great.  After Trescal calibrated it, it started intermittently getting that Error 635 during bootup.  Now it does it all the time. 

I rely on this DVM for the USB Data with my service software.

I see a lot of fixes of re-flashing the pic chip.  That is well beyond me.  Is there any other fix or do I just have to buy a new DVM?  I guess I would go for a 34401A if I can find one reasonable.  My preference is to get this one working.

Agilent states to update the firmware.  I can't do that without being able to connect with it.  I also read of a  number of them bricking when updating the firmware,

If someone know hows to fix this and wouldn't charge me an arm and a leg, I would ship this off to you and pay you for it.
