Agilent MSO2000 problem
« on: October 21, 2014, 04:19:22 pm »
My Agilent MSO2000 scope has developed a problem and I was wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar and knows how to fix it.

When I press the power button the fan starts and the leds flash briefly then the Ref, Math and Digital buttons light like it should do when starting but that is as far as it gets, the three LEDs stay lit and nothing else happens.  I haven't used the scope for a few weeks and it was working perfectly last time I used it so I am not sure what has gone wrong.

Hopefully someone can help and it doesn't need to be sent back to Agilent for repair.

There is probably not much that you can do, without opening the scope.
And if you open it, you break the warranty seal.
If it is still under warranty, I would send it in to Agilent.
I had an Agilent generator go bad after a few month and within a few days I had a new one delivered by Agilent.

There are 3 kinds of people in this world, those who can count and those who can not.

It is still under warranty so I will get in touch with Agilent and see what they say.  I was just hoping that it might be something simple like hold a button down on start up to reset it.

Several DSOX2000 ownsers report the same problem.
Solution is to send equipment to service, customers reports prompt responds from Agilent.

Prepare a USB with the bootloader on it, and try to boot it with the USB thumb drive (inserted).

I just tried booting it from a USB stick and it doesn't seem to be getting far enough through the boot sequence for that to work so it is probably a hardware fault or corrupt boot loader.  I have sent off a technical support request to Agilent, or whatever they are called this week, so hopefully they can fix it.

Is there any warranty seal?? At my DSOX2002A, there is none. No sticker or anything.

I know this is an ancient thread, but I'm having the same problem with my DSOX2022A-what did Agilent say about it? Did they fix it under warrantee?
