Analog VOM
« on: March 22, 2018, 12:52:09 pm »
I am going to buy a used Triplett 630 or Simpson 260 and was wondering which is considered better and/or more accurate. I have a number of other less expensive analog multimeters that are accurate on some scales but not on others and would appreciate any opinions.

Made a similar discussion while ago here -> Classic analog moving coil multimeter, which are considered best ones ?

And it looks like Simpson 260 got most of the votes.

I've owned several of both and my vote would be for the Simpson.  But FYI on both brands it's not uncommon for the precision WW resistors to be damaged by misuse and for some ranges to be out of tolerance or non-functional on used meters, so buyer beware.  I still have one 630 and three 260s.  :)
