Any info on FLIR T1K thermal imager?
« on: September 08, 2015, 11:36:01 pm »
I just got an email from FLIR touting their new T1K thermal imager:

http://www.flir.com/instruments/content/?id=70502

1024x768 resolution, 30fps, thermal sensitivity <0.02 deg C. Wide, medium and narrow FOV lenses available, as well as a "3x close-up" lens. Looks like a beast.

Oddly, FLIR's own site search facility doesn't turn it up.

I'm very curious about the price on this -- I'm expecting USD 10K+, probably 20-30K, but I'd be happy to see it come in lower.

Searching EEVblog's forums for T1K didn't turn up any previous discussion; am I asking in the wrong way?

Damn son... 1024x768.

That said ULIS has had a 1024x768 microbolometer available for a few years now. I wonder if FLIR's is 12um? It's not.

:palm: The screen is 800x480. You would think for $20k+ they would use a LCD of comparable resolution to modern smartphones, or at least one that can display the full resolution of the sensor.

Also it records radiometric video to SD card which is really nice. <20mk NETD.

Have you found anything that shows pricing info? So far, I haven't.

Do not worry, there will be Mark II and III, they left some room for updates (read: for price increase)

A refurbished T640 is $20k on store.flir.com. I would expect a brand new T1020 to cost way more.

However we can all secretly hope that it's not... and that 640x480 units drop in price to a hobbyist level.

We just received a quote for a T1020, looking at £30,000 rounded up, Ex VAT. Not sure how that will translate to USD.

It uses brand new optics and a Linux based )S - no more hacking!

It's $39,950 according to this site: http://www.ivytools.com/flir-t1k-thermal-camera-72501-0102-p/flir-t1020.htm

Yep, it looks like I'd have to win the lottery first.

FLIR has announced the new T1030sc. Basically the same as the T1020 but with 120 fps support (at 1024x768) and 480 fps when subwindowed. Also a new 50 micron macro lens for the system.

Again <20mK NETD and 1% accuracy.
