Brymen website updated (finally)
« on: May 29, 2017, 03:29:17 pm »
Hi All

Just a public service announcement mods feel free to move if its in the wrong place. I was browsing the web today and looking for some specs on a Brymen meter and noticed that they have finally decided to update their site, amazingly enough they even have users manuals for meters available for download.

Very slick and professional, at last!
Hope other manufacturers with unpolished internet presence will take note.
An improvement would be a 3D presentation or at least a view of the back of the meter.

It isn't perfect (horrible colors/fonts, not responsive, doesn't work on a phone) but at least we're out of the 1990s and into the 2000s.

Still hard to believe in todays world with web designers coming out of Uni a dime a dozen it has taken some of these companies this long to have a half decent website that allows users to see what they sell, track down which product is likely best for them and provide reasonable customer support....

And if they add a section with downloads such as manuals, software etc it will be great ... :P

Well it is a much nicer looking website. I might be a bit biased and pissed off with them, but I think my opinion is that the information for deciding which is the right meter is a bit buried and hard to make comparisons. It is a much better site now though.

Yeah, the site is at least a decade in the past.

But still, every improvement is welcome

Even if the previous design looked outdated, it looked much better than the new website.
The new website is ugly. I simply don't like it :)

I just wasted 10 minutes on the new website, got dizzy and gave up.

Is that how the Autorange works on some of their meters?  ;D

Where are the owner manual PDFs?  :-//

Not sure which website gets the golden gong award, Brymen or Uni-T..   :palm:

you have to navigate to the specific meter, then the "info" tab to get to list of .pdf files...   quite lame indeed...

It says on the Product page at the bottom: Senior Products (obsolete)

I kinda feel obsolete now. And what about Senior Engineers?  >:D

LOL actually it reads  "Senior Products (Obsoleted)"

'Osoleted' ? does that mean obsolete AND deleted?

Senior Engineers might want to consider booking a taxi asap, and get to the nearest airport...  >:D

Glad they redid the site.  Thanks for the heads up!  The old site just sucked, and that is putting it mildly.
At least I'm still older than my test equipment

Inviting a Brymen insider here to start their own thread might be a goer.  Or are they here already?

Member suggestions and questions can only improve their products and support,
and give new and existing customers less to think about
(it might even encourage a few rich Fluke backers to hedge some bets on a different horse)

Let's not get carried away, the new one's still quite horrible if we're honest.

(I'll do them a new one for the cost of a few meters...  )

At least now it does not have those 2nd grade level graphics and layout.  (That might not be fair to the second graders, though.)
