Hi,
Is the Bandwidth upgrade from 100 MHz to 500 MHz on the DS4000 series only available for special SW-version?
I have a DS4014 with decoder upgrade already done, but I am not abe to do the BW upgrade. (following the instructions on riglol)
It is using SW version 00.00.04 and HW version 1.2
Thanks for any help

That SW version doesn't look right to me.
Why don't you download the latest version from Rigol and upgrade, then try again?

Hi,
I cecked again the SW version. It tells me the 00.00.04.
Maybe messed up.... who knows.
I will follow your suggestions and report if it works.
Thanks.

At least for the DS2000A series you don't enter separate codes for the bandwidth and other options. You enter the single code for all options, and that unlocks both the full bandwidth and the other options at the same time. Try uninstalling the keys (SCPI command on DS2000A, and assuming same for DS4000 is ':SYSTem:OPTion:UNINSTall'), then just installing the single key for 'all options'.

^^This. The DS4000 uses a single code that compounds all options and bandwidth.

There is a key combo you need to enter to get the full SW version. I can't remember it, but you will find it if you look.
You haven't really told us anything about what you have already tried, so you might already know this but:

Looking at the release notes here:

It seems you have a really old firmware version - presumably one which did not have the ability to upgrade the bandwidth with option codes. So upgrading the firmware should be your first step.
