Difference between Rigol DP832 and DP832A
« on: November 30, 2015, 07:03:57 am »
The two models look almost identical. With the high resolution option, the DP832 has 1mV/1mA setting resolution so it's almost the same as the 832A with a much lower price?

The A version has firmware that actually uses the colour screen, although that UI is somewhat different and has been derided as the base 832 is more straightforward in its presentation.

The base 832 has a colour screen, bit it's used only in a single colour. You can change that colour if you want.

It's my understanding that they both use the same internal hardware and that it can be hacked.

Aside from the display differences that Howard mentioned, the DP832A is basically a DP832 with all options enabled. There's no need to hack it.
