Hi,

For what kind of measurements was used this device? Does is still useful in this days (I am guessing it is pretty old)?

Well, the text says it´s a level meter 10Hz-1MHz, 30µV-300V AC input, 1kHz calibration source included. Probably used to test audio amplifiers for gain-bandwith.
A spectrum analyser or most modern oscilloscopes with an FFT mode will show a signal in that range with a wider bandwidth, concurrently with the other ranges.
