DS1074Z - Decode RS232 ASCII problem
« on: October 10, 2015, 09:46:06 am »
I've found a problem with the decoder. When decoding character "8" it actually displays "9" when in ASC mode. Other modes (HEX, BIN, DEC) return the correct value.
I've tested on 38400, 8N1.
I have the original firmware it came with the scope: 00.02.01.SP1

Is this a known issue? Has it been resolved in newer firmware updates?

No problem here, running latest fw 00.04.03.SP1.

Have you tried all other characters and is it only '8' that's wrong?
I'm thinking perhaps your actual baudrate doesn't match what the scope is set to so it misinterprets.
I don't have a DS1054Z myself, just thinking out loud....

This bug was fixed in version: 00.04.02.03.00.

"4. RS232 decoder shows ‘9’ for ‘8’ input in ASCII format."

(According to the firmware release notes).
