I would like to buy an oscilloscope DS2072A-S. I want to know if this model is hackable??? I already know that the DS2072 and DS2072A is hackable.

My DS1074Z-S is hackable with the DS1000Z(which is similar to the DS2000/4000) generator.
But I believe the hacking method is different for the DS2000A series, so don't quote me on that for those scopes.

I have a DS2072A Upgraded from 70Mhz with Trial options to 300MHz with all options licenced
the Upgrade process for the DS200 and DS2000A series Differs from the DS1000Z series
they ARE different
they are different in hardware Specs
Regarding DS2000A-S and DS2000A
well, I havent tried it myself
but.. after reading the entire forum Post on all this
and learning the differences between the DS1000 DS1000Z DS2000 and DS2000A and the DS2000A-S
in my opinion i don't think it'll be aproblem
after all the DS2000A-S is the same hardware as the DS2000A family of Scopes therefore the upgrade will work
i would give you about a 99.99% Chance of success
besides, if it doesn't work
You can always revert back to your previous Firmware

Partial (well, almost total) success on my DS2072A-S.
00.02.01.00.03 (licence key dump): All options unlock OK, but any attempt to crank up the bandwidth fails; NSEH is the only DS2072A code that works.
00.03.00.01.03: Options unlocked above remain unlocked, still won't increase bandwidth
00.02.01.00.03 (patched for non-A keys): SUCCESS! DSCA enabled 300MHz, DSHH enabled all options
Serial: DS2E1xxxxxxxx
Hardware version:1.2.2.0.2 (shows as 2.0 on the "normal" information screen)
FPGA version:
SPU: 04.00.07
WPU: 01.01.03
CCU: 12.29.00
MCU: 00.05

Hey guys, I just bought the DS2072A-S and I wondering if anyone ever got the 300Mhz hack working with full options? If so, does the DS2000A Upgrade Utility work for getting the options/bandwidth?

Yes. One of the other guys suggested doing two separate licence installations using Ultra Sigma to send the commands.

Has somebody hacked the scope DS / MSO 2072A having SW 00.03.00.SP1 and HW 2.2 via downgrade to modified 00.02 and upgrading back to 00.03 after entering license codes ? As I understand, it works only for HW 2.0 and not for HW 2.2. Is it true ?

I bought a DS MSO2072A-S and need help:
As above - SW 00.03.00.SP1 HW 2.2.
The SIGMA ULTRA calls me a serial and version. No big HEX.
I read something about the logical interface. Upgrade utility does not work on higher versions.
Please help me how to dump the HEX file?
What can I do to unlock my MSO2072A.

"Big hex" is shown only if you have patched firmware.

Open your scope and use JTAG adapter ...
