[DONE]Siglent SDS1104X-E vs Rigol DS1054Z
« on: September 23, 2018, 10:17:40 pm »
Hi EEVBlog,
I'm currently in the process of buying a DSO (as well as a Saleae logic 8).
My Budget is at most 600€ but < 500 would make me sleep a lot better.
My two candidates are the Siglent SDS1104X-E which I get for about 510€ and the Rigol DS1054Z which costs me around 400€ but includes all upgrades.
I have read that one can hack the Rigol into a larger model with 100mhz bandwidth (and other features, but I get those with the deal anyway), which I'm pretty sure don't need yet but I might some time down the road. Considering this it looks like the Siglent has fewer features than the rigol for a higher price.

Am I missing something?
It seems like this is a really good deal for a new DSO but this is my first one so it might just be lack of knowledge.

My workload will mainly be "slow" analog, so most likely nothing above 5Mhz and pretty sure nothing above 20 or so.

Sincerely, Thalhammer

There are small lies, big lies and then there is what is on the screen of your oscilloscope.

Ah cool.
I did search for both models here and for some reason it didn't show up.
