Title: EEVBLOG Brymen BM235

Hi EEV community, i am still on the search of a good multimeter for electronics and robotics, and i am looking at eather the Fluke 15b+ or the EEVBLOG Brymen BM235, also wondering about the EEVBlog 121GW, which one should i get and why? thank you all for the help in advance.

I think you could buy the EEVblog BM235 because (i think so at least) you probaly support Dave in a way with it :)

Also i think you get more for your money with the BM235 than with the Fluke15b+.

With all the DMMs I have acquired in recent years, Dave's Brymen (EEVBlog) DMM has been my goto unit it is small, convenient and accurate.
Only mod I did is swapped out the blue boot for a red one...from 99cent hobbies (kind of an aesthetic thing I have)

calling something a "goto" items just sounds strange to me... primary DMM used?

Hi im considering buying a BM235 to replace my old uni-t 50b that has survived a lot of uses, since it is a good price / function meter with proper input protection. Beside the probes, what are the differences between the original BM235 and the EEVBLOG edition.

The 121GW is an entirely different price bracket to the other two.
Price brackets usually dictate what meter you should get.
Both the 15B+ and BM235 are good entry level meters, can't go wrong with either one.

Nothing, just my branding and blue vs red holster.
At the start my meters had he latest hardware fixes, but I believe they have long since filtered through to all non-EEVblog stock.

Ok Done.

I think i'm gonna donate the uni-t 50b to a newer on electronics . It's has 8 years working , in good condition , has box and acessories except the original probes, but i need a better one.

I was looking on the manual and i noticed the fuses, and forgot to buy the fuse kit :P to have spare ones. But they also are out of stock
Which brands of fuses are compliant for the same characteristics? Little fuse, Bussman, Siba ? I can order easly the little fuse?

For info, the smaller (400mA) fuse is a SIBA 7017240.0,4

There is a UK eBay seller called JPSCalibrationServices that sells them in packs of 5 - I think his part number is 'JPSF083'

Thanks for the indication and that's the correct part number.  I was searching and found that seller too, so it must be reliable.

Hi

I've got only the KLK 15 from little fuse for free but these are rated for less voltage (600V) and more current (15A) so it is better to get the proper thing .
I'm tired of seeing glass fuses on CATIII rated DMM :S

I'll open the package after the workday and then test it with regular components ( 1% parts). cheap AD5XX voltage reference and  for current powering , power bank with 10 Ohms , a H4 bulb with ATX power supply in 12VDC, and AC, i'll be start with a philips LED lamp

I've done done almost all tests on the different modes of the multimeter and it is bang on. Very good for it's price. About the h4 lamp test i first use the old UT50B as reference using the original probes and then homemade probes, which turn  out to be better. So the rest of the test for BM25 and other meters would be using the homemade probes to prevent of diferent setup and then for the BM235 a test using the supplied leads was done. To measure the current and voltage aditional clamp meter and pocket meter where used to monitor the max voltage

The results concludes that the brymen has less overshoot on measuring the current draw from the H4,compared to the other meters and It turns out that the leads from the BM235 are much  better then the homemade.
