I've been looking for one, too.  DSO seem to do very badly in XY mode with super slow refresh modes. 

Cheapest solution for you may be to buy older 20Mhz scope on eBay and set it to XY mode.  Another thing is, even good quality digital scopes do not have Z axis.  So there is no way to blank out the dot.  If you have any retrace, then that will show too.  I have a couple of off-brand scope for this purpose.  It works very very well for this.

its not the solution im looking for,i already have a tek scope and a hitachi,im looking for someting pocket sized and battery powered,refresh rates are not an issue,i want to use it with a battery powered sine wave generator for curve tracing components,ie octopuss,component tester.,the whole idea is to have something battery powered and small to use in the field without lugging scopes ,inverters etc around.
