Fluke 8000a revival
« on: January 20, 2018, 03:51:52 am »
Hi ,
I have a fluke 8000a series meter, the usual carry on ,dud display ,damaged resistor network that feeds the display , Im not certain on the condition of led driver ic .
My question is does anyone know a suitable replacement seven segment numerical led module ,off the shelf, that will work with this unit?
The other bits ,I think should be easy to track down .
Im not into spending massive money for 'unobtainium' fluke spares ,but I am willing to spend a bit of time to try and get this unit going again.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated .

The Fluke manual shows the driver IC [U5] as an SN7447AN.
Compare it's data sheet to a TI DM7448N driver IC.
If usable, Radwell in NJ shows them in stock for $3.61
They also show some 7-seg LEDs as well, usability is your call.

You might also want to check https://www.axcontrol.com.  They often have the same kind of stock Radwell has on hand.
