Fluke 8846A - anyone that got the updated firmware downloaded?
« on: February 25, 2014, 11:12:35 pm »
Hi !

I just got one 8846A cheap from Ebay (my second 8846A) , but it got the old software, and Fluke has removed their uppgrade for firmware from their webside.
But still got the info about it, just to make you a little bit angry upon them..

Do anyone by chance got the firmware and the "how to" downloaded ?

It would realy make my day if someone could help me out..  :)

kind regards
Erik

Hey rocket !!

Many, many thanks for your help!!

PM me your PayPal account and there will come a small thanks to you very fast, or if you don’t got PayPal, send me your address,  erik[at]teknoserv.no

I found out that Fluke removed the upgrade because there where people that could not follow the "how to" ..  (If only the Americans did the same regarding selling guns..)

Kind regards
Erik

http://www.ebay.com/itm/251426293566?ssPageName=STRK:MEBOFFX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1427.l2649&autorefresh=true

Asking price was higher , 125$, but nice seller.

I presume, that 8846A and 8845A got the same display unit, maybee robrenz know anything about that?

He got one left as of today. So why not send him a mail? :-)

I'd say that Americans are doing a great job at using guns for their intended purpose, which is to cause death. Last place I lived in USA was Baltimore, where there was over 1 murder per day on average, almost all with guns.

(I'm an American living in Switzerland -- another country with high gun ownership, and consequently a high percentage of murders and suicides committed with guns. The military training works! :/ )

A truth about gun ownership is that not all gun owners are willing to kill  others in their propriety with their guns, and moreover, target shooting is a sport. And second, if your government decides that you can't own guns to defend yourself or your propriety, there are three possibilities:
n°1 :  hiding yourself or your valuable items so they don't have a reason to threat you
n°2 :  create something that can do the job or some way around it
n°3 :   get a gun anyway and don't care about the rules

People kills each other (or themselves) for many reasons. There's no way around to this: it has been proven by the beginning of history.

And triggering a debate about gun ownership in this forum is against the rules and useless, because politics is  :bullshit: and in my opinion politicians are all stupid because changing politics is just a way around instead of solving problems because you can agree or disagree with them but the problem still awaits to be solved and time goes by.

I can tell from your comments that you also come from a country where politics don't work! :P Coming from USA to Switzerland, one of the things I appreciate about living in Switzerland is that politics, on the whole, do work for the people.

I got the latest  Fluke  8846A firmware, Firmware2.10.882.24,  and if anyone need it  just PM me and give me a upload page, ex google drive, or i send it tru wetransfer.com - need your e-mail adresse to do that.. (sorry no FTP upload alowed from inside this company) where i can drop it i gladly share it.
The cost of doing that? A Thank you up i the right corner of this post..  ;)
Be advised there is a need for recalibration of the instruments DC/ac 400mA range afterwards..   :)

Erik

From readme:
Calibration
The 8845A/46A will retain all of the calibration values after the firmware update.
However, released firmware versions 1 & 2 (see the included file Software versions.pdf)
will require calibration of the new dc/ac 400 mA range and for the dc/dc ratio function.
Contact an authorized Fluke Service Center for this calibration.

I'm interested in the latest firmware for 8845A. Is the FW for 8846A the same as 8845A?

The (last) OutG firmware update that was available online (that I know of) was the one shown in the last picture.

The later SW may be due to the HW change, and therefore might not be compatible with earlier hardware.

Hello- resurrecting this old thread since i didn't find any more relevant one.

I have a Fluke 8846A (serial # 9451014, OutG SW 1.0.xxx). I understand the newer 2.1 or 2.3 FW supports "Fluke 8842A Emulation Mode", which I need for some some pre-compiled software.

If anyone has it I would greatly appreciate if I could get my hands on it (link via PM, perhaps).

Thanks!
