I have two Nortel GPSTM, a close cousin of Thunderbird.  Oddly enough, when connected to Lady Heather, they report differently.

One has "temperature" constantly changing and the other one reports a fixed value.  On the latter box, if I inject some cold air by using a can of air, it will move, but otherwise, it is not reacting to room temperature change.  I'd like to start my trouble shooting with giving it a factory reset.  I also looked for firmware update but I could not find any.  Nortel is in bankruptcy protection, so there's no way to contact them.

Does anyone have experience with this?

Under the Lady Heather "!" keyboard menu is a factory reset command...

-! seem to have done something ONCE on one machine.  Have no effects on 2nd time.  It does nothing on the second machine.  Weird!

Seem to be, displaning is working though.  I fed one output to 10 digit counter's timebase input, and the other to channel 1.  Only last digit flickers +/-1 and it's pretty stable.

Early Thunderbolts has a temperature sensor that could be read to around 0.01C   Later production changed to a sensor with around 0.1 degree res.   Perhaps they did something similar with the GPSTM.  A lot of GPS equipment with temp sensors have a resolution of only 0.5 to 1.0 C.

I take it, this is just for FYI kind of thing?  Performance does not seem to be affected.

I'm assuming this is a temperature inside the receiver cabinet, not that of the oven...

Do they both have the same firmware version and hardware internally? I've seen a few different revs.

The hardware is identical; however, firmwares are not.  I can't find anything for updating them to the latest.
