great scope probe and accessory
« on: November 24, 2018, 01:58:15 am »
Recently the HP miniature scope probe was mentioned here and I remembered the little probes that came with my HP1741.
Naturally they broke years ago but I lucked into a NOS probe on eBay.
I never saw the DIP gripper accessory for these things and wow is it ever great!
Why isn't this more common? You can just grip this thing on a DIP chip and it stays there!
I mean sure, who uses DIP anymore, but it's still useful.

That's pretty slick.  I've never seen one.   I would normally use the chip clips, even as we moved to higher density packages.
