Hack Rigol 2000x

Hello guys, I was thinking to get a better scope than my 1054z, and I noticed that the 2072A doesn't cost that much.. but the bandwith of only 70Mhz isn't enough (Obv)
So I read about the hack on the 2000x series, I know that already exist many many posts, but my english isn't that good and I haven't undestand if the hack on the 2072A is possible only via Keygen (as the 1054z) to upgrade it to 56M, Decoders, 300Mhz and the other things, or I have to make it via hardware or to modifing some code or other things that include some knowledges in programming

There is no need to change hardware, everything is done in software. It seems safe to perform since the software basically only extracts key data from the usb connected scope which is then used to generate serial keys to unlock the options.
Mind you, the article is not recent so there is no guarantee this still works with the latest versions of the firmware.
