Hantek 6022BE
« on: July 02, 2015, 03:41:25 pm »
Hi,

I bought a Hantek 6022BE a while back, and have just started to use it.  I've used scopes a lot in the past, and it's a bit limited, but for that price what can you expect?  I've had a look around this forum to get some advice, and found rather a lot (58 pages on one topic!).  It appears that the hardware is better than the software.

To save me some time, can someone please answer a couple of questions?

Is there any better Windows software than the original supplied with the unit?

Is there an Android version?  (Could there ever be?)

All answers and advice gratefully received.

TIA

Mick

1) Read the 58 pg thread, it has the software you want in detail.

2) Not that I know of, unless someone has designed it recently.

Android version: you think of a smartphone version? Problem is USB OTG adapter for me. I already tried 2 of these adapters and got no luck find the scope with an android host viewer tool. Maybe the next adapter will work.

Thanks for the answers.

The Android question was really a, "wouldn't it be nice if I could use it with my tablet?", without any great hope, so I'm not surprised there isn't an app.

I was hoping that someone would give me a steer into the 58 page post (if that's the best place to look), but I guess I'll have to slog my way through all the preliminaries to find the final version.  Ho hum.

While back when I was looking for a USB scope (for travel). I looked at Hantek 6022BE and checked to see if sigrok supported it. They didn't and I just checked they still don't. http://sigrok.org/

Bummer because it's nice and cheap.

But there is a python software for Linux, that displays a waveform without the windows driver. It displays the waveform via some labview lib, so I guess it is not fast enough for rendering new signals constantly.

I have an Asus Nexus 7 (2013).  It talks to a USB memory stick, so I guess it can operate as a USB host.

I've just read through the 58 page thread; a lot of it is worth reading, but if you think life is too short:

Latest software, PR18, can be found here, in reply #540:

The manual can be found here, in reply #747:
https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/hantek-6022be-20mhz-usb-dso/msg572503/?topicseen#msg572503

Anyone using these owes a debt to RichardK and Matchless; there's a lot of work in these.  The authors admit that both are incomplete, but they seem to be the best we have.

I prefer pr17, because it runs faster in my old notebook.

That's interesting.  Do you lose any/much functionality with PR17?  To save some time, do you have a link for it?
