Hi everyone,

Has Rigol came up with updated version of DP832 since I can't find the old one anymore which was around $400; single color LCD and the channels were lined up in 3 rows rather than the current center star 1/3 of a pie kind of arrangement?

Dave had a video about the DP832 discussing the screen channel arrangement so I am sure those exist but even rigol.com no longer sells them at the price point mentioned on the video. The current star arrangement goes for around $450?

Thanks

@PA0PBZ http://www.rigolna.com/products/dc-power-supplies/dp800/dp832/ doesn't explain what happened to the $400 one?

I think you are getting the DP832 and DP832A confused.

The DP832 has always been ~$450 and is single-color (although you can set the theme to yellow and get a two-tone yellow/orange display).

The DP832A is much more expensive and has the "full-color display" with 3-piece "pie" layout. The hardware is essentially identical, both actually have full color displays.

I agree that it is confusing since Dave did say those go for $409 US Dollars on his review:

And he specifically said NOT to be confused with 832A which is a higher model. So which is it: $409 as Dave said or $450 as the real world appears to indicate?

That was almost a year ago, the price must have changed since then ;)

I think Dave was converting Australian dollars to USD and vise-versa, the exchange rate fluctuates.

Also, with the EEVBlog discount at tequipment, the price is not far from $409.
