Hitachi V-209 OScope battery powered

Got this oscope recently to be my dedicated signal tracer (XY) analyser. It is battery (NiCad) and mains powered. The scope was in perfect condition, excep for the internal batteries. So this happened today:


Old NiCad pack



New 4000mAh cells, NiMH, can be charged by the built in charger.



Soldering the cells together, using desolder braid, after a cleaning, fluxing I and tinnig first. The metal did not even feel hot directly after soldering.




Tools used.


Packaging.



Tight fit.


And running on the new pack....

Hello,

You replaced an NI-CD battery pack with an NI-MH battery pack.
How is the load and the load detection full ?

It uses the build in charger for that. The two cell chemistries are close as far as voltage are concerned. See Dave’s video here:
