HP 4262 Thoughts
« on: January 07, 2014, 05:07:56 pm »
What does everyone here think about the HP/Agilent 4262  LCR meter? I know it's quite old (1983), but it seems like a decent instrument. Also, this is my first time seeing the 5 terminal test benches. How is the 5 lead test fixture better than the standard 2 lead?

Thanks for the help, as I am new to LCR meters.

How much are you getting it for? Consider the genrad 1658 better accuracy/resolution, more compute abilitie, and simple to troubleshoot. The downside is no 10khz.

I picked up one of those for under $100 US.

Accurate, reliable, has a low level output for in circuit tests, GPIB interface, 100/120 Hz, 1Khz and 10 KHz.

Footprint is a bit large compared to modern instrumentation, otoh it's repairable if necessary.  I've never had a problem with mine.
