Have traced up a boat anchor HP54502A in reasonable condition, how much should one pay (maximum) for a working unit?

Cant use US prices as guide line, it's a different market, Scandinavian T/M second hand market is stone dead since several years ago so i cant use that either!

Well the seller will need to sell it either way so if the local market is dead (and Europe isn't a good used TE market as a whole) he'll end up selling it to a US oriented market. I'd just use Ebay prices for sold listings to get a feel on what is the maximum price.

Looking at Ebay they seems to sell in the sub $100 range so I'd start at 50 euro. IF you really want this machine because (IIRC) these have only 6 bit vertical resolution.

There are small lies, big lies and then there is what is on the screen of your oscilloscope.
