Solvent Resistant Micro Brushes
« on: April 24, 2021, 07:59:26 pm »
I have been using micro-applicators (see attached) to clean small adapters, between pins, and the like. They worked well but after a few years I worked through my supply and had to re-order. It looks like they are more available than ever before, but unfortunately the new ones don't appear to be resistant to isopropyl alcohol: once wet, they shed like a dog.

Does anyone know of a brand/style that is compatible with IPA?

The relevant Digikey selection has a "Shred resistent" option in the "Features" column.
My personal expeience is with the MG Chemicals 813 series(IPA and acetone), and if you use then carefully, the sticks tend to have a long life, and I was able to re-use a few between sessions, even multiple times.
