There has been a lot of buzz around the new UXR we announced on Tuesday, so I thought I'd sit down for a podcast with a couple other folks to talk about the new UXR and answer questions from the interwebs. It'll air Thursday 9/27 on the EEs Talk Tech podcast (YouTube and audio).

What student discount will Keysight be offering for this machine?

By the way, lending an early model to Shahriar was an excellent idea. I can't think of a better way for the broader interested public to get a somewhat detailed look at this exciting platform.

Always the interesting question when creating something truly state-of-the-art measurement instrument - how do you measure 'the best' measurement instrument? Do you use indirect measurement methods or use even better instruments that are developed solely for such purpose and would not be reasonable to manufacture (although many would say that beast is not either!).

What kind of sales volumes do you expect for that? (You may not want to say number but discuss briefly).

These are of course more like for the top model, as I suspect almost all questions.

i certainly cant afford it, the technology and the knowledge is way beyond me, let alone the instrumentations to design and characterise that... so practically my question is... no question.

Were there things that were learned from the design and engineering that might eventually percolate down the value chain to more mainstream models?

Was the development driven by customer demand, rather the desire to be king of the hill?

I noticed that the HMC (Hybrid Memory Cube) memory used in this scope as acquisition memory has been discontinued by Micron before the scope even came out. Maybe would be interesting to discuss how you deal with part obsolescence/availability issues for designs like this that you've invested huge time, effort and expense into and want to keep in production for significant periods of time?

Yes, I watched it last night, very impressive.
And most questions were answered nicely, except for the expected selling quantity.
But may be Keysight does not know, how many will sell.
