I think there is a teardown somewhere on the forum... use search

You can get new Kyoritsy multimeters under Yokogawa name for a lot less money.

I bought one about $70.
it uses FS9922-DMM4 IC. You can google its datasheet.

It looks OK for the price. It seems to be rated correctly from what I can see of the construction. In its price range it looks like a fair deal.

I think I would rather have the Uni-T UT61E with its warts and all. It costs less, higher accuracy, PC connection and software included. Sure it doesn't have a back light nor temperature and it has false CAT ratings, but it is safe on almost anything "electronic" up to 250V if you are forgetful and leave the leads in the current jacks.  Or get an Amprobe AM-270 for $90 and have a really safe meter and better specs again than the Kyoritsu.

it use the same IC as VC99
so... I think that its not good

The IC is not the only indicator of quality, good or bad. The IC is usually one of the cheapest parts of the meter and therefore even a VC99 can afford to have something decent. The range switch, circuit board, and all the other parts and components will add or subtract more from the quality of the meter than the IC can within a class. Don't discount this meter just because of the IC used.

If you care the measurement speed/features/stability, the ICs used usually dominate them.
If you care accuracy/temp. drift, the other components (Resistors/reference voltage) are also important.
If you need the reliability/safety, the protection design & PCB/Range switch built quality should be cared.

I agree with jarvis
Also don't forget that the voltage reference is build in the IC.  :(
