Author Topic: Looking for Agilent DMM Connectivity Utility Software (Read 12418 times)

Hello,

I got a Agilent 34401a and I’m looking for a simple software to log data for more than a hour. My understanding is that Agilent DMM Connectivity Utility Software was free at some point but now it’s nowhere to be found.

If anybody has a copy of the software, I would be really interested.

I have a copy of the "Agilent DMM Connectivity Utility v1.0.2.0".
I'm not sure if it was the latest version, maybe someone has a newer version (or a better alternative), anyway:

I used an old HP branded bench dmm.
I had to download the usb drivers for windows. They were really complicated, they were usb measurement standard drivers.
Anyway, part of the driver package was a plugin for ms excel which allowd control and logging from the bench dmm straight into excel.

Try looking at the usb drivers from Keysight.

Yes I found that but I was looking for something a bit more visual

Also I currently don't have office installed on my computer.

Doesn't Command Expert allow you to do this from within Excel or using the stand alone app.

I got mine ~~here~~ (edit: redirect dead now) and it works perfectly with the 34401A.

I suppose that link only redirects to the Keysight website, which doesn't allow the download anymore. Worked a month ago.

Can someone please list the the meters that are supported by this application?

Edit:
After installing I still can't see a list of supported meters!
I think it is for bench meters but not handhelds, perhaps?
For instance, it does not support U1272A, but for that you can use "Keysight Handheld Meter Logger Software for PC" which is free (for now).

I used it with IO Libraries 2018.1. Was working fine.

Btw, did somebody try to connect the 34401A via a bluetooth module, like

34401a rs232 <---> max232 <---> HC-05 (Rx/Tx/Gnd)

Ok, so I've tried harder and it works.. (HP34401A)..
2 transistors RS232 to 3.3V signalling, LE33 voltage regulator and HC-05.
Powered from the 9pin RS232 rear connector, no other power source required, do not ask how it is done

Works under Agilent DMM connectivity at 1, 10, 100PLC without handshaking, sometimes the connectivity is lost upon initiation. Needs to be investigated..

I successfully installed this on my Windows 10, 64 bit laptop but will it work with more modern Keysight meters like the 34461a? It looks very like the Keysight Handheld Meter Logger Software but that only supports...

U1210, U1230, U1240B, U1240C, U1250, U1270, U1280, U1450A/60A Series and U1115A
