This is the version I received today from Rigol. It looks like Rigol's procedure is to request the update rather than just downloading it from their website. At least this is the way is seems for the US. I have not been able to find any mention of this version anywhere, so it may have just been released.

If you got it from rigol, there is an doc file for version notes inside the archive..

I didn't receive an archive file with any release notes - just a link to the update file and installation instructions. I have asked Rigol for the release notes. Will post if I receive them.

Also, I mentioned to Rigol that my scope was a DS2072, not a DS2072A if that makes any difference.

Testing Math Log() function,
working but the DSO locks up.

See log of a sawtooth with a bit of Negative valuesl
Note log(-negative) = 00

DSO display and controls Lock up when you try to edit expression
but USB still reports the Display with SCPI commands

HIRes is really screwy

week ago did request new fw for 2072, someone from rigol europe sent DS2000(DSP)update_00.02.01.00.03.zip
and later, someone else from rigol usa sent separate email - 00.03.00.00.00

rigol website claims latest to be also 00.02.01.00.03

asked confirmation from that rigol usa person, claiming what i just said - no, he says, correct one is one he just sent...

Well as Post b4, the FW 00.03.00  ...     allows the MATH    log function to be applied and it seems to work but Hangs the DSO
The function is named lg() in 00.03   but named Log()  in previous FW

The FW file is 900KB larger,   what is the additional code doing??

I think your full FW version number is  00.01.00.00.03

To get the full firmware version info from the DSO, follow these instructions:
Go to the Trigger menu and set Edge trigger.
While keeping the Trigger menu open, you are going to use the 6th and 7th right-side menu buttons as follows:
Press the [Menu7][Menu6][Menu7][Utility] buttons one after another quickly.
Then check additional info under System -> System Info.

Just to add my experience, I also requested the new firmware to rigol at the end of last week and they sent me version 00.03.00.00.00. I have a DS2072 Hw 2.0 (non A). I haven't tried it yet cause I'm thinking they might have added code to prevent the keygen from working.

Is there any other feedback on this version?

I put this onto my DS2072, which is the first hardware revision.  I have all options unlocked and BW up to 200MHz, everything still says 'official version' after the update.  Everything seems much the same, not that I have looked in depth at any differences.  So if unlocked, it looks like this stays post upgrade.

I wait for the release docs, everything i need works 100% so why take a chance? If they added some new nice features and all is well i might give it a shot.

I have an original HW v1 DS2072, which was running 00.02.01.00.03 with all options and bandwidth up to 200MHz which I upgraded to this new 00.03.00.00.00 without a problem.

Trying to go back to 00.02.01.00.03 the scope looked like it was running the downgrade, but when restarted would still be running the newer firmware.  Uninstalling the options seems to be the only way to go back to the previous version.

Re-installing the options has worked OK.

Yes, thank you very much, I downloaded it but I'm still waiting to upgrade since you mentioned that the Ethernet slowed by a factor of 6 and I finally downloaded Marmad's RUU, didn't install it yet but I rather try it at it's full speed first.

Most of the time, It is best to have the PC close to the DSO, as I find testing and recording data best at the DSO. 
Once the data is recorded on the DSO,   RUU can be connected to the DSO after the Data to held on the DSO (signle trigger, recording stopped)
I isolate pertinent data with the Big Knob on the DSO, and note the Start and end Frame numbers.
Then I only save those frames to the PC for animations or plots.
As the PC is close by, a USB cable is long enough, I used an extension.
Marmad has done tests with his RUU and says that the transfers rate is faster using the USB link.

ask again tomorrow, but i doubt it

they would have told me that a version was about to be realeased if that was the case

i really doubt it

i think's it's just a matter of

1. Loading the new firmware and seeing if the Updrades stick
2. if they don't stick we can always revert to the old firmware that has the upgrades, but Uninstall via SCPI, Worst Case Scenario

besides, Why would they put out a version that locks our upgrades,
it's these upgrades that have caused an increase in revenue for EMONA Instruments and Rigol
and kept the client happy

it doesn't make sense to now Piss the client off and creating unnecessary hatred amongst clients

Anyway, I'll see what they send me and i'll get keep the forum updated

  As I stated on the Review Forum, I got FW 00.03.00.01.03 direct from China, (squeaky wheel).
but no releases notes.  Get FW on that forum 
I'm still finding some bugs (small and Obscure)

And with a Non-A  DS2000,  I  often  switch between FW 00.02... and FW 00.03...  with Options. ,
But you cannot go back to FW00.01 (must uninstall Options)

Well thats not for all, i loaded the new FW, and went back to 01.01.00.02, from june 2013
with no problems, all options where still there...

i use a 2072  ( non A ) and did not uninstall before going back to 01.01., just loaded the old FW.

I Think you are use 200MHz option , and I think I was at 300MHz.
When I did it the FW loads but freezes on booting.
The stop is during  second flashing on Bootup dots . at the 4th Dot.

By success I mean verified that the hacked options remain installed? I want to make sure Rigol didn't figure out some way to nullify hacks. I know, I know - the FW upgrades should not impact installed options, but I want to be sure about that before pulling that trigger. Thanks.

Kjelt:  The English version of the release notes was mistranslated.  If you use Google Translate on the Chinese version it properly lists the last firmware version as:

It still doesn't list what's new in this version.
I just installed it on my DS2000 (not A) and it installed fine, showing the new firmware version as 00.03.05.03.03 ("00.03.05 SP3" in default system info window).  It is dated May 17, 2017 as shown by PeDre.

Don't know what changes have been made in this new firmware.  Maybe have to wait for the next version before the release notes show this versions changes.

My 4 year old DS2072 with original firmware and all options enabled hasn't been updated for the very reason that I thought the options might get hosed. One thing that annoys me is that if I do a single shot trace with hi res enabled it makes a reasonably clear trace, then if I click the timebase up one notch then back again the trace is much clearer and thinner and well defined. Why can't it display like this right after the trace appears??? Do any of the updates address this issue? I'll post a screenshot when I get home if necessary.

Just tried it out on my 4yo DS2072 that has never been updated and all seems good. All the options seem intact.
