Hi,

have a look for Siglents SDS1202X-E 2-channel, or SDS1104X-E, 4-channel.
In this budget-class both are certainly among the very best.
There are several threads here at eevblog dealing with the Siglents.

regards

Hi!

in 400-500€ (with tax) range you have Rigol DS1054Z  and 70 MHz tablet scope Micsig TO1074 Plus.
Don't buy 2ch scope. They are not as useful as 4ch with what on average people are doing today.
Funny thing, I either use just 1ch (poking around the circuit to see what's there), or am trying to correlate several signals at the same time..  Combination I use the least is 2 ch.
But that depends on what you do of course.

If you can afford more money, there are Siglents (mentioned) that are good scopes.  Once you go towards 1000€ you start getting even more choices, but not necessarily much more measurement capabilities.

If you are beginner, I would buy something economical first. It is not impossible you might even damage it if it is first time you work on scope.
It is sorts of like a first car after you get your drivers license.  And it will be your first, but not last scope.

IMHO the Rigol 1054Z is rather outdated compared to Siglent's offerings.
There are small lies, big lies and then there is what is on the screen of your oscilloscope.

Not the first time using scope but defiantly new in this level of electronics. I am a hobbyist so probably 4 ch like you sad is more useful and could agree more with 1 ch probing around instead of multimeter and more channels for more advanced diagnostics.
Thant siglent is a bit more money but seems like good buy, never the less Rigol can be bumped to 100Mhy with a hack...hmm

Cheers

And with that hacked Rigol seems to me that you would have "half" a Siglent SDS1104X-E at the same frequency, and without calibration warranties.

Another vote for SDS1104X-E from me.

PS: ...unless you find the Rigol 1054Z at half the price of the Siglent SDS1104X-E

Yes its like 130E more for siglent , and no hassle with hack, and probably even siglent can get hacked also, even better then.

Yes and you pay extra for the additional functionality and the two 1GSa/s ADC's that ensure sampling rate is still near Nyquist at max BW with all channels active.

Yes, the SDS1104X-E can be improved to 200 MHz BW too.
