I was wondering if anyone has the new DP711 Single Channel Power Supply (http://www.tequipment.net/Rigol/DP711/DC-Power-Supplies/?v=7237) and what their thoughts are. Maybe Dave will do a teardown and review. ;)

I second that & bump post for you.
I would also really like to see that review...
Thanks Dave! :)

it has rs232 wondering if possible to modify to obtain fine resolution & perhaps other locked features. I can use the fine resolution.

Another supply that looks promising is the Siglent SPD1168X (http://www.saelig.com/PS1BS/spd1168x.htm) with USB and LAN capabilities.

And remote Sense. ;)
There's a thread on them in the TE board.
Keep an eye on Defpom's YT channel as he's got one of mine for a look at and maybe a teardown too.

I opted for the DP712 a while back. Can't really grumble at it, after all it is just a power supply.
I only ever use it as standalone, have never used the software with it.
Is there anything you want to know in particular?
Kind regards

Nowadays a ethernet controller has a cost of cents...

... No USB is a bit silly nowadays. Who still uses RS232 ? >:D
