New to me HP8553A
« on: April 19, 2018, 05:54:51 pm »
New to me HP5335A just arrived....  yay

First off, I can't seem to find a manual for this anywhere.  If someone can point to me to a source, I'd be appreciative.

I ran though some basic test.  Few issues....
Channel A seems to work
Channel B seems to work to display ratio against A but there isn't a way to display frequency of B
There is a VOLT button that displays "0"  (I read somewhere, this is an option?)

Can anyone assist, please?

I take it you mean the 5335A Universal Counter?

Keysight has a good scan:

Artek also has a copy that may be clearer:

For some reasons, I am not able to download from Keysight.  Downlaod gets stuck and ends with no document found.

Second one is paywalled....  I kind of want to try free ones first.

Thank you though.

AND!  What is this 5.1Mhz reference clock thing??  Five POINT ONE?

Which browser are you using? Do you have a blocker running? The Keysight web site has a pop-up that asks for registering. You don't need to, you just need to cancel it out. I need to use Chrome to get through. Otherwise FireFox blocks it.

The other one has clean scans of the manuals. Many of the Keysight ones are 3rd generation scanned photocopies of faxes.

To display frequency of B , you have to select  the B input;   press: Scale, Smooth, 17, ENTER
If three 100  Ohm resistors are connected in parallel, and in series with a 200 Ohm resistor, how many resistors do you have?

www.k04bb.com , go to manuals and search for 5335A or click below

Enjoy your 5335a :)

Thanks everyone.  I got a pdf copy of manual from a third party.  It basically explained all of my concerns.
