Ordered a UNI-T UT61E on Amazon and received a Tek Power UT61E

I bought this for $44.49 USD. As far as I can tell it is identical to a UNI-T branded meter. It works well but has a different  board layout compared to teardown videos I have seen. There is no UL E number printed on the circuit board that I've seen in the teardown videos.

Did I get ripped off?  Is Tek Power just an OEM for UNI-T or vise versa? What do you think?

Well, since you are in the US and Tekpower is located in the US, perhaps you can get better support from them (although their website does not instill much confidence).

Interesting to see it has a different layout, but IIRC Uni-T has done a few redesigns on this popular model. One thing I would do is carefully compare your board to other UT61 variants (B, C, D).

Assumed you looked at the 61E thread and know there are several versions of PCB for that version of meter.  A picture of your board would have been more helpful than the outside of the case.   Let's see what it looks like!   Maybe you have even another version!

Sorry it took so long to reply.  Attached photos show it is the newest version of the 61e.

Looks like you received what you wanted then.      It appears to look just like 5KY's 61E.  The soldering and workmanship on his looked pretty good.  How's yours?   

I thought about getting a few of these to run some tests after people were posting about adding MOVs for some reason or another.   There were so many different flavors of the 61E it would have made it near impossible of a task.
