Tektronix Oscilloscope Probe Alignment tool.
« on: January 01, 2014, 03:18:27 am »
I have a 6139A probe that needs a bit of adjusting...but no tool was included.

I peeked in the adjustment hole to see what kind of tool it takes, and I can't figure out if is a screwdriver or socket wrench.

Screwdriver won't touch it.

What does the alignment tool end look like, and what can I substitute?

Thanks.

The tool itself is in most cases plastic. If you happen to have a set of tv adjustment tools (as they used to be called) you should be able to find what you need. Other than that you will need a chunk of plastic rigid enough to act at the bit and file or carve it into the correct shape. Try the plastic shaft off of a childs water-paint brush. But don't let the kid catch you.

Thanks all, I found Cal Test Electronics CT3648 Deluxe Oscilloscope Probe Trimmer Tool (of course only in quantities of 10...)  Its reference sheet says it replaces that Tektronix part...we shall see...
