I just got one of these scopes, XDS3064AE. It has some nice features: large touch screen, battery. But there are also a number of limitations I found based on casual inspection:

1. "14-bit" resolution: For a few settings I tested the resolution was 4096 or 8192 levels, so at most 13 bits. I haven't found a setting that gives 14 bits. The noise of the ADC (at maximum 10V/div setting) is about 11-12 ENOB.
2.  Acquisition average mode is very slow, like 1-2 updates per second. Plus, it starts with an offset, so the first few averages are useless.
3.  Among possible measurements there is no "standard deviation". One can calculate the standard deviation by subtracting in quadrature RMS and mean. But the result seems to depend on the number of points in the waveform, it shouldn't be the case.
4. There is a digital filter function, but it only works if one channel is displayed, no other channels can be used at the same time. It also has a bug that I reported to them.

So overall its an OK deal for the money ($500), but could use some refinement.

Dear OWON XDS3064E owners - do you know where to obtain the firmware binary image for this scope?
Mine does not boot any more, after 8 months of occasional usage.
Reading that this thing does not have a stable filesystem - my first attempt would be to try to reflash it.
But the firmware is nowhere to be found.
Found one reference on one reseller's site, but the file has been removed: http://www.owoncn.com/software/XDS3104E-BOOT.zip
Might anyone by accident possess a copy and would be willing to share?

Thank you
Priit

You should ask Owon directly.

info@owon.com.cn

Last time I emailed them, it took some time, but they ended up answering.

I did. And also mailed the seller. They were kind to respond, but it appears there are some national holidays in China and no response to be expected before one week.
Thought if I find the binary myself, I would be back up and running by then.

http://www.owontech.com/firmware-upgrade
Thanks!
Why are there downloads available only such limited number of models?
No 4-channel scope seems to be listed.

Look like Owon only release firmwares if they found a major problem in a previous version. They don't add any features post ship.
