Can't connect to my LeCroy 9354 via RS232 (Scope Explorer)
« on: June 30, 2018, 09:41:49 am »
I tried to connect to my LeCory 9354AM via RS232 with LeCroy's Scope Explorer. The 'scope has the RS232 hardware option installed. I tried using the pin header on my mainboard and a USB adapter. Both the Scope and my RS232 adapters are set up tu 19200 baud rate, 8 data bits, no parity, one stop bit. I'm using Scope Explorer 2.25.0.0 on Windows 10 64-bit (latest version).
Neither the automatic detection nor manually adding the scope work. When I add it manually the status reads "Dead".

I found some people here who successfully use Scope Explorer but unfortunately no information about what the problem might be in my case.

Is there anything I'm overlooking?

Do you use a straight cable or a null modem cable? In any case, try the other  ;)

That did the trick. I had to use a null modem cable. Thank you.  :D
