Recieved my £56 USB scope opened it up etc.
It is noisey (40mv), however for 56 squid, it's not that awful.
Front end looks like they made room and pads on the pcb for shielding cans, but didn't put the in the unit. Maybe because it wouldn't make a difference due to the front end chips or maybe the dac (NXP 74HC4051D).
Dual 8 bit DAC, AD9288 BSTZ-40, I noted the Refs where grounded.
processor is a CY7C68013a-100AXC
Software isn't that awful but if you do a oneshot capture you are stuck with scrolling through that time domain and resolution, we are talking one scroll per bit, it's bloody horrid. Not sure but if anyone has the source code this would be an easy fix, a smart arse programmer needs to contact them
For £56 I don't see a problem buying one of these. Yes I know it isn't great, yes I know it's shit to certain standards, but if you are a hobiest and all you need is some way to see or visualise a rough idea of whast is going on then to be frank this is bloody awsome. It's cheeper than a crap multimeter. One shot capture is big to, 5 minutes, don't quote me.
It's hard to find an honest review on these so I thought I might say something.
