Rigol DS1000Z and MSO1000Z exporting waveform to computer?
« on: January 20, 2015, 04:34:12 pm »
I want to export the full waveform from the Rigol to my computer; so I can do a FFT of the entire waveform, instead of just what is on screen.

Would someone mind directing me towards a guide on exporting or capturing the waveform? Also, is it possible to do this without the licence for wavefore record/playback? My scope is an MSO1074z.

Having to keep the scope attached to the computer over USB or Ethernet would be perfectly fine.

Hi,
There is a very nice and simple programm to automate this task. Oscilloscope companion. See this web page:

http://ogrodowa.gosiewski.pl/publish/OscilloscopeCompanion/

The program is able to download
* visible part (usually 1000+points) (normal)
* all live downloadable data (Maximum)
* in STOP mode it can download full memory dump (RAW)

and there is automation built into this programm, it can automatically create CSV file upon every waveform fetch and it can automatically copy this file to clipboard or save to disk in different variants.

The same for screenshots and measurements.

The programm is free to use with Rigol scopes.

Have other people had satisfactory results with this program?  On my desktop machine (Windows 7/64), it crashes immediately after displaying its welcome screen.

I reinstalled it and it works.  I don't know what was wrong, but it doesn't matter now.  Thanks for your (potential) help.
